Research has shown that “quality teachers” are more likely to have successful student outcomes. Characteristics of a quality teacher include content knowledge, teacher experience, education and professional development coursework. This toolkit is a collaborative effort of ECMC Foundation Fellows in Florida, Kentucky, Nevada and Tennessee with experience in postsecondary and secondary CTE teacher education, training and recruitment. The toolkit includes practical and proven strategies for recruitment, training and retention of quality postsecondary CTE teachers.
