ECMC Foundation Senior Program Officer Stephen J. Handel, PhD, co-authored a Los Angeles Times article discussing the Supreme Court’s decision to outlaw the use of race and ethnicity in college admissions and the need for elite colleges and universities to widen their enrollment pipeline to welcome transfer students from community colleges in substantial numbers.
Dr. Handel and coauthor Eileen Strempel, the Inaugural Dean of UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music, encourages elite universities to look to the University of California as a model.
