Today’s students face numerous challenges in pursuing a college degree, many of which are magnified for students of color, those from economically challenged communities, and first-generation students. This review describes these challenges and identifies best practices and strategies to support students from enrollment through degree completion. It was prepared to inform the planning of the Breakthrough Collaborative’s College Success Network Improvement Community.
