TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2021

6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m.  Reception & Dinner  

Welcome to New Orleans! We will kick off the Convening with a reception and dinner at The Pelican Club, located on the historic Exchange Place in the French Quarter. Network with other Fellows, and hear from Chef Martha Wiggins of Café Reconcile.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2021

8 a.m.–8:45 a.m.  Breakfast 

8:45 a.m.–9:30 a.m.  Keynote and Q&A

9:45 a.m.–10:45 a.m.  Roundtable Topic Discussions
Engage in discussion about the leading challenges in postsecondary CTE. 

Topics:

  • CTE and career focused learning
  • Building stronger on and off ramps for CTE learners
  • Measuring the outcomes of CTE

10:45 a.m.–11 a.m.  Networking Break 
Enjoy coffee, refreshments and networking time

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Individual Cohort Time
Fellows and Grantees will Connect as a Cohort group

12 p.m. - 1 p.m.  Networking Lunch

1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.  Concurrent Sessions
Join a facilitated session on one of the below topics:

  • Upskilling the workforce (Adults looking to increase their job advancement/ change careers based on high demand/high wage opportunities
  • Some credit/no degree (Returning adults rather choosing path of credentialing or obtaining degree)
  • The opportunities and challenges of Online CTE
  • Federal/state legislation and implications for CTE
  • Special populations in CTE
  • Fellowship leads connect (Grantee Partners)

2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.  CTE in the News Panel
What journalists need to know about CTE. This panel will discussd elevating high-impact practices for partnership across research and practice and how to elevate this in the media.

3:15 p.m.–3:45 p.m.  Networking Break 
Enjoy coffee, refreshments and networking time

3:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Case Studies in Working Groups
Fellows will work together to articulate recommendations on a key CTE topic/related challenge.

4:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Closing Reflections
Key takeaways from the Convening's events.
