Amal Karim

Program Officer

Amal Karim oversees a portfolio of strategically responsive grants, bringing over a decade's experience in educational equity, policy, evaluation, and grantmaking. Prior to joining the ECMC Foundation, she was a Senior Program Officer with the Constellation Fund, where she led the education portfolio as part of the Fund's mission to make outcomes-driven grants to underserved communities in the Twin Cities. She began her career as a teacher on the Pine Ridge Reservation and has also worked at Educators for Excellence and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. She serves on the Hennepin County Library Board and is a co-chair for the Twin Cities chapter of Asian-American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP). 

Amal holds an MPA from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs and a BA in politics from Pomona College, where she was a Fulbright scholar.
